A few members of the Maysville Adventure Club 🌳🥾kicked off Thanksgiving Break with a hiking trip to Hocking Hills. Special thanks to Mrs. Leasure for serving as our tour guide. The cold, wet weather didn't stop them from enjoying an ice cream treat!

Mrs. Hann’s 4th grade math students recently did an activity involving area and perimeter in class. Each student was given their own package of Cheez It crackers to use to find the area and perimeter of the given shapes. They had to report their findings using the appropriate labeling to move onto the next shape and eventually the challenge section. Once the activity was completed all students were able to eat their crackers. The students said how much they enjoyed this activity and it gave them a better understanding of perimeter and area.

Maysville Elementary 5th Graders visited the S.T.E.A.M. lab⚙️ to use their new knowledge of light and how it travels to complete a series of laser challenges by ThinkFun. Teams collaborated and used mirrors and light benders to transmit the laser on a given path. We also talked about future career opportunities as Photonic or Optical Engineers.

🐾Maysville Athletics Schedule and Tickets 🐾
Maysville Elementary fourth graders joined Mrs. Hill in the S.T.E.A.M. lab to test their knowledge of earthquake disasters and to use the Engineering design process to construct a building that would withstand a mild earthquake. Students worked within the parameters of a $15 budget to buy their supplies, plan, and create collaboratively. Teams even had time to improve their design following tests on a shaker table.
